Audit Shield

We believe this has become more important for clients as the IRD ramp up the number of random checks. We are continuing to get more letters from the IRD that are just fishing for something (they never say what).

The latest one was for a significant kiwifruit orchardist, whom we have looked after for years without problems. The IRD’s reason for picking this client was “Compliance risks identified in your business’s industry sector”. This client has an active Audit Shield policy, so the hours it will take for us to provide the information the IRD are requesting and dealing with any additional questions they have, will not cost the client at all. Our fee cost will be totally covered.

This client’s response was one of pure disbelief as to why they had been selected, then that changed to relief that Bennetts Proactive would deal with it for them and the best bit; it would not cost them anything.

It is the preferred outcome if you happen to get selected as it is a situation we have no control over.
